With the GL SPECTIS 5.0 Touch optical spectrometer, the accuracy and configurability of portable light measurement devices has been taken to a new level. Until now, photometric and radiometric accuracy this high was only available in high end lab systems. Using this state-of-the-art spectral light measurement instrument, you can get lab grade data anywhere you go. Our light spectrometers are individually calibrated to deliver precise results quickly, with options to include our industry leading GL SPECTROSOFT M for advanced analysis and reporting.
This truly unique LED spectrometer can be configured to cover an extended spectral range from UV to NIR using a single sensor, calibrated for absolute measurements from 200 nm to 1050 nm. The practical design of this instrument allows for various types of measurements for a range of different applications. From UV measurements in Photobiological Safety tests through lab accuracy VIS range LED lamps evaluation to IR range tests of LEDs in medical application. GL SPECTIS 5.0 optical spectrometer has you covered.

Global Standard Accuracy

GL SPECTIS 5.0 Touch optical light meter features a large laboratory grade back thinned CCD sensor from Hamamatsu delivering extraordinary stability over longer exposure times. The device is calibrated with the use of reference standards which are traceable to national laboratories and confirmed by the globally recognized factory calibration. Electronic dark current levels are monitored automatically with intelligent compensation for any drift due to temperature fluctuations.

Advanced technology

GL SPECTIS 5.0 portable spectroradiometer uses the latest photonics technology to provide an easy-to-use, precise and practical tool for lighting professionals. When you have a demanding measurement applications outside laboratory, or you need immediate dependable results, this fully self-contained optical spectrometer is the ideal solution. Connect to a PC for use in the lab, production or other industrial location where light or any other optical radiation must be measured.

Industry leading flexibility

With the universal concept and design of the GL SPECTIS 5.0 Touch, you can easily expand your measurement system by adding any one of our integrating spheres or additional accessories. Measure irradiance with standard diffusor or fiber optic probes. Connect to spheres for flux measurement or combine this instrument with luminance / radiance telescope for specialized evaluation of hazards and quality.

GL SPECTIS 5.0 Touch Usage

The idea to create an extended spectral range, high performance in a portable spectroradiometer was raised many times during contact with customers using our other handheld spectrometers for LED testing. Many users of our laboratory instrumentation were also asking if it would be possible to have the same accuracy in a smaller device so that you don’t have to carry bulky laboratory devices into the field.
This was the origin of the GL SPECTIS 5.0 Touch light spectrometer which was designed by merging the practical self-contained features of our GL SPECTIS 1.0 series with the top end accuracy optical system coming from a typical laboratory instrument. The result is one of the premier solutions in the market for advanced LED and optical radiation measurements for general lighting, medical, electronic and scientific applications.

Unmatched optical performance

GL SPECTIS 5.0 optical spectrometer has been tested and evaluated by many laboratories around the world and has consistently delivered the same accuracy as many a lot more expensive and complicated metrological instruments. For extended range configurations, our spectroradiometers are individually calibrated with certified reference standards that cover the entire spectrum from 200 nm to 1050 nm. The factory calibration and uncertainty values verify performance that up until now were only possible with scanning spectroradiometers or monochromators.

Professional LED characterization

GL SPECTIS 5.0 Touch portable spectrometer can be used with any of our integrating spheres and goniometer systems for advance measurements in accordance with CIE 127:2007 and CIE 025/E:2015. The high accuracy and resolution make it ideal instrument for measurements confirming to (IES) LM-79-08 and other international standards.

GL SPECTIS 5.0 Touch Features

Extended spectral range

With a wide wavelength range from 200 to 1050 nm, the GL SPECTIS 5.0 Touch spectroradiometer allows for measurements in accordance with a number of standards, including Photobiological Safety (EN 62471) or measurement of SSL products (IESNA LM-79-08).

Touch screen display

The instrument does not require a computer to take measurements. Navigation is very simple and key data can be immediately displayed using the device’s color touch screen:

  • full spectral profile i.e. spectral power distribution
  • chromaticity charts according to CIE standards
  • color coordinates
  • all lighting parameters like CCT, CRI and the individual R1 – R 15 indices
  • color peak values

Photometric and radiometric calibration

An absolute spectral calibration is integrated into each spectrometer before delivery thereby enabling the accurate measurement of different absolute values such as lux, candela or lumen together with radiometric values depending on the measurement accessory installed.

Dark current compensation

Despite the fact that it is not a cooled detector instrument, GL SPECTIS 5.0 Touch light spectrometer is ready to provide very accurate measurements in different conditions. A temperature sensor installed on the electronic board monitors changes in temperature and automatically compensates for any change in dark current level providing excellent measurement stability.

Micro SD

Thousands of light measurements are automatically saved on the 4 GB micro SD card included. The system creates a library of folders containing measurement data stored in separate files. The naming system can easily be changed to help the user gain easy access to the saved measurements. Moreover, the data can be transferred directly to a computer from the micro SD card.

Variety of integrating spheres and probes available

With the universal concept and design of the GL SPECTIS 5.0 Touch, you can easily expand your measurement system by adding any one of our integrating spheres or additional accessories.

Automatic accessory detection

GL SPECTIS 5.0 Touch optical spectrometer possesses a unique mechanism to detect which optical probe has been attached and automatically uses the correct calibration file for that accessory. This enables the user to confidently avoid measuring errors when changing accessory interfaces. The calibration meets the requirements of leading standards institutes and is confirmed with a manufacturer’s certification.

GL SPECTIS 5.0 Touch Metrics

Our preconfigured, individually calibrated spectral light meters deliver fast and precise results for nearly any practical light measurement application. Measure in seconds and review the results directly on the handheld display or dig deeper with optional software.

* Dynamic range is spectrum related and should be calculated separately for any light source. Estimated dynamic range for typical 4000 K white LED. Range estimated for optical system made to default specification. Alterations of that are often possible. Please consult technical support if you are looking for specific parameters.
** Spectral range of the sensor. Actual spectral range of system may be reduced due to limitations of used optical accessory.
*** Absolute measurement uncertainty immediately after calibration. The expanded uncertainty corresponds to a coverage probability of 95% and the coverage factor k = 2. Parameters valid in laboratory conditions 25°C, relative humidity 45%.
**** Applies only within the spectral range of the given model.
***** In moderate use – continuous measurements and WiFi significantly increase energy consumption.
