UV radiation is widely used in industrial processes and in medical and dental practices for a variety of\u00a0 purposes such as UV disinfetion, treatment of skin diseases or phototherapy. It is used in curing inks and resins, artwork inspection, gem and mineral authentication, document verification, crime scene inspection or pest control. Effectiveness of UV radiation can vary significantly with even slightly different frequencies of radiation. This invisible part of optical radiation can only be measured with a calibrated and dependable optical measuring instruments.<\/p>\n<p>Der zunehmende Einsatz von UV-LEDs erfordert die Anwendung von zug\u00e4nglichen und zuverl\u00e4ssigen Messinstrumenten. Die Strahlungsleistung bei exakten Wellenl\u00e4ngenwerten ist sehr wichtig f\u00fcr die Entwicklung und Bewertung von Systemen, die UV-Strahlung einsetzen. Zum Beispiel ist die Empfindlichkeitskurve f\u00fcr E-coli stark von der Wellenl\u00e4nge abh\u00e4ngig &#8211; der Gehalt an Verunreinigungen im Trinkwasser variiert bei gleicher Strahlungsleistung an verschiedenen Punkten des UVC-Bereichs; bei der Sch\u00e4dlingsbek\u00e4mpfung liegt der optimale Bereich zum Anlocken von Fliegen bei etwa 365 nm, und dies ist die Wellenl\u00e4nge, die von den herk\u00f6mmlichen UVA-R\u00f6hren in Fliegenvernichtern abgegeben wird. Eine Verschiebung dieses Bereichs verringert die Fangrate. Bei der medizinischen UVB-Hautbehandlung sind Anwendungen, die den engen Strahl bei 311 nm kontrollieren, wegen der gef\u00e4hrlichen Nebenwirkungen kritisch. Ein zeitlich stabiles, wiederholbares und kalibriertes Spektralradiometer ist die L\u00f6sung f\u00fcr eine sichere Produktion von UV-Strahlungsprodukten.<\/p>\n<p>Usable spectral working range of Spectis 4.0 starts at 200nm. Depending on configuration optical resolution FWHM could be set at 0.5nm. Dedicated thermal adjustment allows stable readings at different application temperatures up to 35 \u00b0C . Due to proper calibration, absolute UV spectral values are free of stray light impact. Wavelength and linearity correction is verified with the use of optical bench. Absolute readings are well aligned to the black body radiation standard and checked with the deuterium lamp for short UV range. UV measurements with GL Specis 4.0 can fill the gap in a variety of ultraviolet LED applications.
